If digital isn’t for you, we are always happy to meet our customers as it one of the best ways to go over everything we can offer. Our workshops are function over form so we prefer to either ride or enjoy a local coffee while discussing our wheels. Drop us a call to arrange this.
Pura Velo
The idea and dream behind Pura Velo was to offer a pure, but simple service – custom wheel builds. In essence the intent is to let you select the optimum component combination for your needs, have us build them up and you go on to enjoy your wheels for years to come.
This could be a daunting task though, especially to anyone without the time or inclination to put into researching available parts, trawling through forums, searching around shops, through brochures, across websites, testing, comparing…and so on.
Thankfully we’re here to make the whole process an enjoyable one. We only use the best components, provide you with simple, honest advice and guide you through the process of creating your new perfect wheelset.
The Team
Jeremy Fletcher
Role | As the founder of Pura Velo, Jez is the drive and core to the business. He is a skilled and passionate wheel builder, photographer and just loves riding bikes.
Bio | During his MEng degree in engineering, Jez developed an interest turned obsession with cycling, bikes and their mechanics. Now as both a qualified mechanic and engineer, when not practicing engineering or riding himself, he spends his time specifying, building and testing to develop the perfect custom wheels and bikes. Throughout this developing interest he had always especially loved the balance behind building and component technology of wheels. This love and desire to share his knowledge and passion for cycling with the world is what led to the dream that is now Pura Velo.
Guy Murray
Role | Guy played a key part in creating the dream that is Pura Velo. His role today is delivering builds, paintworks, marketing and on the odd occasion turns his hand to writing.
Bio | Guy worked for many years as a bike mechanic in numerous bike shops during his Architecture degree. Having grown up with Jez, the two have ridden countless miles together. When both their interests turned to the mechanics side, through learning and teaching each other, their knowledge and skills developed and eventually led to custom building bikes and wheels. Since then, aside from riding, he has dabbled in the writing side of the sport spending some time with ‘Cyclist’.
Mike Small
Role | Mike provides Pura Velo with business and accounting expertise beyond that of your everyday bike shop. He takes a lead role in accounts and business development.
Bio | As a practicing accountant, Mike is first and foremost our accounts man. However, having once been a triathlete, keen road racer, and more recently competitive track cyclist he knows a thing or two about bikes too. In the past he has had the chance to train and race alongside the Junior Men’s GB team in Manchester. Now back in London, he’s working hard, but training harder at London Olypmic Velodrome and Herne Hill. He can also often be found cruising around the Surrey Hills and Richmond Park.
Supported Riders & Teams
Cycling is a sport we passionately believe should be accessible and enjoyable for anyone and everyone. However, whether you do it for love or you get your kicks from racing, we know that as you test your limits, it can have a tendency to become an expensive one. To get to the top and go beyond those limits, you may well need some support. We do just this for a number of riders to keep them rolling smooth and to help them through their various endeavours.
